Intro to Weaving
$1.00
In this playful and welcoming class, we turn simple strings into fabric using just yarn, drinking straws, and our magic-making hands. Participants will learn the basics of weaving, including how to set up a warp and work a weft, while creating a simple, portable loom that can calm wiggly hands and ease distracted minds at a moment’s notice.
As we weave, we'll come to see ourselves as makers and storytellers — part of a long tradition of fabric creation across cultures and generations. By the end of class, participants will have the knowledge and head start to create their own woven bracelets, belts, headbands, bag straps, and more.
No experience necessary and open to all ages! This class is perfect for beginners, families, or anyone looking to learn a timeless, hands-on craft.
